About the Art
“Bits Of Scribble”
First shown in 2005 at The Interim Gallery, Bermuda.
Bits Of Scribble examines the relationship between instinct and environment, juxtaposing unwieldy storms of scribble against geometric planes. The artist suggests that we are, in essence, bits of scribble running up against the boxes of existence. Sometimes these boundaries are beneficial, providing direction and security, but in some instances the walls become too constrictive, prompting a desire to break free.
“Cog”
First shown in 2006 at The Bermuda Society of Arts, Bermuda.
“Cog” resumes the thread of exploration initiated in “Bits of Scribble”, and attempts to illustrate how past experiences influence our most cognitive efforts to shape destiny. We rub off on each other, coloring one another’s perspectives, thus becoming cogs in the biggest wheel of all, the turn of fate.
“Shift”
2007-2008 Philadelphia, USA
This series was produced during the artist’s first year in Philadelphia, a period of great change.
